Public Adjusters Have Your Back
Unfortunately, an insurance company won’t voluntarily dish out more than an amount claimed by a policyholder. You don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you suffer a loss and the scope of damages needs to account for everything required to restore the property back into tip top shape, or in the words of the insurance business, “uniform and consistent” appearance. So who you gonna call? Well, a licensed public adjuster of course.
This is their realm, their terrain, their area of specialty. It’s their job to include elements that may go unnoticed by non-professionals. We don’t always know what to keep our eyes out for in order to ensure this uniform and consistent appearance.
Here’s an example: There was a recent known case where a water leak from a kitchen appliance damaged the hardwood floor with massive leakage that made its way into the basement. The insurance company added up the estimate of repairs and offered a settlement to the owner.
The owner had basic homeowners insurance which provided replacement cost coverage. If the homeowner accepted the first offer which covered the replacement cost, he would have fallen short of cash that was needed to actually bring the home back to its uniform and consistent appearance.
With a licensed public adjuster, the homeowner got the best bang for his buck. The first offer was in the low five figures and when the adjuster came on board the team, the numbers climbed up to the six-figures. These professionals have your best interests in mind and are here to ensure you get what you deserve.
