Our FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

What is a public adjuster?

A Public adjuster is an insurance claims adjuster who advocates for the policyholder in appraising and negotiating a claimant’s insurance claim.
The public adjuster’s main responsibilities are to:
• Evaluate existing insurance policies in order to determine what coverage may be applicable to a claim
• Research, detail, and substantiate damage to buildings and contents and any additional expenses
• Evaluate business interruption losses and extra expense claims for businesses
• Determine values for settling covered damages
• Prepare, document and support the claim on behalf of the insured
• Negotiate a settlement with the insurance company on behalf of an insured
• Re-open a claim and negotiate for more money if a discrepancy is found after the claim has been settled

When should I hire a Proactive Claim Solutions?

The period of time shortly after a loss is the most critical time to get someone involved in your claim. Thousands of dollars can be lost if the claim is not properly documented from inception. For that reason, we recommend you call us, before your plumber, roofer, etc… Of course, in the event of a fire or other tragic loss, please call 911, but then call 1-855-LOSS911. We will come out in the middle of the loss and make recommendations to help you get back to the place you were before the loss. Let us evaluate the problem and recommend further action. Remember, we want you to get paid the maximum allowed for your loss and will work in your best interest directly after the loss.

Why should I hire a Public Adjuster?

A Public Adjuster works for YOU, not the insurance company. A recent governmental agency study was recently published which showed that insurance claims that involved a public adjuster settled for 700% more money than claims settled between the insurance company and the policy holder. Non-catastrophe claims that involved a public adjuster settled for over 500% in additional money. As an added value, our public adjusters do not get paid unless they are able to recover money from your insurance company. Typically, the more detailed and complete your claim, the higher the settlement. We go through all the evidence, step by step, very carefully inspecting the loss site and accurately documenting the damage.

How do I contact you?

Our licensed Florida public adjusters are available 24/7 by calling toll free 1-855-LOSS911

I live in a remote area in Florida. Can I still use your services?

Yes. No matter where you are in the state of Florida, our licensed public adjusters will come to you, file your claim professionally and will work diligently to obtain a full, fair and equitable settlement for your loss.

Can’t I file my insurance claim myself?

If you were to go to court, would you hire an attorney? The same basic principle applies. Of course you can file your own claim, but it is not recommended. Typically a policyholder hires a public adjuster to document and expedite their claims, obtain a more satisfactory claim recovery, more quickly, and completely restore their residence or business operations, and insulate themselves from the stress of engaging in an adversarial role with a large corporation.

Who uses services of Public Adjusters?

Public Adjusters are hired by individuals and all types of business and professionals including: attorneys, banks, accountants, business owners, and even insurance adjusters and agents for their own losses. Will my insurance company cancel my contract if I will hire a Public Adjuster?

No. It would be a serious violation for any Insurance Company to discriminate against you in any way for exercising a right given to you by the State of Florida.

I have already settled my claim but I did not receive enough money to cover the damages. Is it too late to try to get more money?

Whether your claim was under-paid or it was denied, as long as the damage occurred less than 5 years ago, it is not too late to collect more money. What is the difference between a Public Adjuster and an Insurance Company Adjuster?

The insurance company adjuster or independent claim adjuster are both employed by the insurance company and can’t protect both your interest and the interest of his/her employer at the same time. The insurance company adjuster will often offer to settle a claim for the sum they feel is adequate, but in many cases is not enough to properly repair the damaged property. A Public Adjuster is an insurance adjuster expert who works exclusively for you the policyholder. We are experts in reading the final print and understanding your policy, coverage and the insurance company responsibilities in order to negotiate a better settlement.
